abuzuri: Introducere
abuzuri: Introducere: Introducere Ehhhh!! In sfarsit, am decis si eu sa-mi fac un blog, pentru "a intra in randul lumii"! Sa zic ca inca nu prea stiu ce este as...
Like any normal and healthy man, I have some passions, normal ones, I guess.
This is a blog about all of the things that make my life to deserve being lived. Apart from the daily troubles and struggle to survive in the modern jungle, we need reasons to make us believe that life is more than the usual quotidian acts, like breathing, working, eating or shitting!
I love big spaces, the sky, the mountain tops, everything related to speed and high-end technology. Too lazy to simply walk, to go to these places, I use the chopper, jeep, bike or quad.
I love big guns, nice girls, good buzz, but who on earth, doesn't?
I live in a small village from the center of Romania, Europe. You know Romania, that little crazy country that gave world Ceausescu, Nadia Comaneci, Big Ghita, Brancusi or Henry Coanda, of course, without mentioning the herds of begging or stealing gypsies who overwhelmed Europe and "conquered" North American territories.
My village is in a hilly area, not too far from the Carpathian mountains. If I think about the bad roads around, I think that I have natural reasons to love so much off-roading. For this, I own 3 jeeps: XJ 4.0, YJ 4.2, and ZJ 6.0, a Ducati Elefant 900 C big bike, and a Kymco KXR 250 with Kymco MXU 500 engine and transmission quad. More, I have a pontiac TransSport 3.8, an Alfa Romeo 33 4x4 Sportwagon, an Opel (GM) GSI with 380 HP engine - C20 LET Turbo boosted and a Moto Guzzi Florida, with 1100 cc engine, which replaced the original 650 cc one.
Not too very far from here, I found a 1977 Camaro 5.7, almost completely dismantled and I think about buying it for restoring. Not too sure about that right now, even if I love (as it can be easy seen), the classics!
At present, I have two projects on course and they swallow enough money to make me think twice when it comes to buy another rig. I must finish the YJ and, to finish my new chopper.
Now, about the YJ; I made and installed a 4" lift kit, 31x10.5x15 boggers, strong aluminum - stainless stell light bar with 4 big round dual (LED and Xenon) lights, stainless steel front and back bumpers and rockers, TEAM TS-6M CB radio, with (not so legal), 100 W amp, with a 1.95 m Santiago antenna. Even if the engine left with almost all 4200 cc, I swapped the cylinder head with one from a 4.0 injected AMC engine, I made a new admission collector and I replaced the BBD Carter carb, with 3 double Dell'Orto ones. Never tested on a dyno, but I can say the power is at least double, somewhere around 300 HP or over. Please note that all is made by myself, with little help from a friend that has a small workshop where he owns a lathe, a mill and a planer, all for metal processing.
I removed the hard top and I started to make a combined soft top, which will be very easy to be mounted and removed and, will contain all the elements to be used as bikini, partial or full soft top. Except for a frame in the back of the car and an aluminum bar over the windshield, removable also, the top will be free of any metallic parts. Now, all I have to do, is to finish the side parts, the ones that will contain also the zippered doors. For all, I used black and transparent-clear rubber sheets, velcro tapes, a few bolts and of course, the zippers for the back gate and for the doors.
At the same time, also part of this project, I am building a very small trailer able to carry one, two motorcycles or a quad. The trailer will not need any kind of registering, because the back wheels of the carried vehicles will be rolling on the ground while hauled.
Soon, I'll add some pictures of what I done so far.
Well, now I gotta go to do something more in my workshop, because the outside heat started to calm down...
